Saladiate began in 2018 with a straightforward conviction: high-quality language education should be accessible to anyone with an internet connection and the desire to learn. What started as a small team of four tutors operating from a shared workspace in Melbourne's south-east has since grown into a nationally recognised online school with more than 85 qualified instructors and a community of over 4,000 students spanning every state and territory in Australia.
The name Saladiate reflects our belief that learning a language is best when it draws from many sources — much like a salad combines diverse ingredients to create something richer than any single element alone. We blend cultural immersion, conversation practice, structured grammar instruction, and real-world application into a learning experience that feels natural, engaging, and immediately useful.
We exist to break down the barriers that prevent Australians from learning a second or third language. Geography, busy schedules, and limited local options once made language study impractical for many people. By delivering every programme online through live, interactive video sessions, we remove those obstacles and put world-class instruction within reach of learners in metropolitan centres and regional communities alike.
Five values that guide every decision we make, from curriculum design to customer support.
Language education should not depend on where you live or how packed your calendar is. Our fully online model and flexible scheduling ensure that opportunity is never out of reach.
Every instructor is a certified native speaker. Students learn pronunciation, idiom, and cultural nuance directly from people who grew up immersed in the language they teach.
No two learners are alike. We tailor study plans, pacing, and content to individual goals — whether that is passing a visa exam, closing a deal overseas, or reading bedtime stories in a grandparent's language.
Progress is tracked against internationally recognised CEFR benchmarks. Regular assessments and transparent reporting keep learners motivated and stakeholders informed.
Learning thrives in connection. Our small-group classes, student forums, and cultural events create a supportive network that extends well beyond the virtual classroom.
We regularly review student feedback, invest in tutor development, and update our curriculum to reflect evolving best practices in language pedagogy and educational technology.
